Since Fall 2008, USF has an unlimited-seat license for Elluminate. This means that an unlimited number of USF faculty, students, and staff can be using Elluminate at one time under the license and faculty/moderators do not have to be concerned about whether they can get seats for their sessions.
This unlimited license has enabled the us to install the Blackboard Building Block for Elluminate so that USF faculty and staff can schedule Elluminate sessions from within Blackboard (myUSF - http://my.usf.edu) courses and organizations respectively whenever they want to.
We regularly upgrade and maintain Elluminate so that you can use all the latest features as soon as possible (usually 3 months after release). In Summer 2008, we upgraded from version 7.5 to version 8 of Elluminate and in Fall 2008, we upgraded to version 8.5 of Elluminate. Our most recent upgrade to version 9.1 was completed in June 2009 and we plan to move to version 9.5 (just released by Elluminate in July 2009), by the Fall 2009 semester if the release is found to be stable. To learn more about the new features available in version 9.1, visit: http://elluminate.blog.usf.edu/2009/06/16/elluminate-upgrade-to-version-91
